Wiki is always in dispute. In this case however "female" is not the intended meaning. I wish that guys name would not have been related to my favorite anime of all time. Bottom line is Sykoi is not wrong of course. However the term as it relates to the show is not feminine. My fiance is japanese and an english translator so I asked her and she said: "When I think of Yasha I think of a spirit in the forest." lol she never gives me yes or no answers. She's fired lol.

i know the wikipedia is normally disputed. but that article actually had that. most other articles i have seen dont have a warning on them like that. thats why i pointed it out.

Just a quick thought

Another way to generate perfect Japanese names ever time would be to ask players to give you the meaning of thier name, not thier name. So Demon Dog Woman will likely translate to something namelike in Japanese. I wanna play "Hitman Dude 6000!" and gets Hiroshi - Man+Death. (I know, compound word would change the Kanji etc but I'm being lazy).

For instance to do it for European names in a medieval setting - someone goes "I pplay a big wrestlin dude and I wanna call him The Rock. His name comes out as Peter. Or I want to play a female character who is truthful and get Felicity. And so on.

- The Autumn Tiger...

That's a great idea Akitora. Some kind of name generator would be cool. Like a list of popular names and a meaning search. There are only so many japanese names and if this game gets huge (i hope) they would run out fast. Then we will get people called iroxxorzun00b345 running around. I hope that doesn't happen.

Indeed, since ripping names sucks, although sometimes it may be possible, but, probably, none of us want someone called doggypwn099842 or rackerz0rDwnG0l2d424242 or whatever D:< But... is there any name generator around? I'll search for something since it'd be better to not give any more problems to the devs, right ?

if i remember correctly you pick your names from japanese phonics (so a vowl after each letter) can't spell doggypwn because there is no vowl after g, and g, and p, and w, n being the exetion

sorry for typing was smoking a cigar
