I scanned through the posts - don't think this was mentioned:

Besides allowing everyone to look like their favorite anime character (Kenshin, anyone? ),
Cuts and scars would help identify people.
"Hey. Do you know SunWuKong?"
"You mean that uberstud with the huge scar across his chest?"
"Yeah, that's him."

Or, it could also help describe people to the police.
"Some guy with crossed scars on his cheek just killed Fenris!" ( )
"The thief got away. I don't know who it was, but I left a large cut on his right arm."

Permanent scars (player option to keep if severe enough?) could be a big help: identity, role-playing, rep, etc.

Good point. It's alot better than "He had dark brown eyes, black hair, and an asian complexion."... though I still think there should be more methods of identifying people both in character an out.

However, that would require quite a large amount of different scars to be drawn, unless there is a way to make the positioning randomised, rather than choosing from a list of pre-drawn positions..?

maybe make it so with each character, you only are able to choose from acertain list of outward appearance options so that basically, no two character can have exactly the same face...would be hard as hell to program tho.

Mount and Blade, the somewhat outdated game had an awesome character creation screen for the face, like probably 10+ different aspects, cheeks, eye position, etc, that part made the game really fun to me... as far as cuts, maybe have eye patch or missing ear option in creation.

I sorta like the idea of being able to change your characters looks after creation, after all we arent born the way we look now, are we?

I think that this is a great idea, would also be original as far as MMORPGs go... but then again this whole game is, is it not? I could just picture a whole bunch of fighters flexing half naked showing off their scars... uhg what a mental image ><.

ALSO! Maybe they can include a playing date thing where it says when the person first started playing. And if one person has a ton of scars and has been playing for a while well ya know he gets hit he doesn't kill fast. BUT if there is another guy who has been playing for pretty much just as long and has little or no scars it says he is a good player and will have a chance to be accepted into a family easier.

I think this would be an awesome idea, though i can only imagine how hard it would be to implement. Even if it's just limited to being able to place scars on your person at character creation it would be incredible, though the concept of gaining a grotesque, stomach-churning scar as a result of a particularly bloody battle is very enticing.

Kuzukago, look at your avatar, you could have character with eyepatch or maybe missing ear, maybe.
